Last week we posted about how one of our newer clients had used the software to market themselves AKA resume distribution. A couple of days after this article went live we received another email about how someone had used this software to calibrate stock levels against a website and aromatically print shipping labels when an order was complete and payment was received. This was huge for us as we knew this could happen but generally the connection between the printer and the warehouse or the computer and the printer itself is difficult. But these smart individuals managed to do it. Below is the response from Dan at garage-shelving.co.uk and how he managed this.
It was a bit fiddly to get set up at the start and the connection from the computer to the printer was a pain in the a. But it is possible if you have a couple of things. The first is you obviously need a website where people can purchase an item. Once you have this you need to have a smooth checkout process, anything that goes through paypal or sage pay will be fine. Once complete you want this to send an email to a secure email address, one that only your confirmed orders goes too. This is key.
Once emails are received, you simply set up your emails to automatically print everything you receive. If set-up in the right format on the email this prints in the correct location which means you can simply pack and remove the sticker and stick to the item in question. It’s a very tedious and long process to set-up but once its done its been a life-saver in terms of packing orders and not having to constantly check and login to the system. If something is printed you go and pack an order, if it isn’t then you don’t Simple stuff!
